Escuela de belleza; tenemos clases de cosmetología y manicurista en español para tramitar licencia del estado de California. That is the school in one sentence.
Plenty of schools in Los Angeles County advertise "Spanish available". In practice that often means an English class with a translated handout, or an instructor who switches languages when someone looks lost. Here, Spanish is the language the class runs in. Lectures, questions, demonstrations, corrections and exam review all happen in Spanish, because the students in the room speak Spanish.
The difference shows up in what students actually retain. Understanding hair chemistry or disinfection contact times is difficult enough without simultaneously translating it. Take the translation away and people learn faster.
¿Es Para Usted?
Para quién son estas clases
Spanish-language instruction matters most in these situations.
- You have been told by another school that classes are only in English, or that Spanish "might" be available later.
- You understand conversational English but not technical English, and the vocabulary is what is stopping you.
- You have skills already — years of doing hair or nails for family — and only need the licence.
- You want to study in Spanish but test in English because you plan to work in English-speaking salons.
- You have delayed enrolling for years because language felt like a wall.
- You want your questions answered properly in class instead of nodding through something you did not follow.

Studying in Spanish, working in English
A common worry: if I study in Spanish, am I limiting where I can work? The honest answer is that the licence is identical either way. The California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology issues one cosmetology licence, regardless of the language you studied or tested in.
Where language does matter is on the salon floor, and that is a vocabulary problem rather than a knowledge problem. Students who plan to work in English-speaking salons often take theory in Spanish, request English textbooks, and sit the state exam in English — building the technical English vocabulary alongside the concepts rather than instead of them. We support that route deliberately.
Why this matters in South Gate specifically
South Gate and the Gateway Cities around it — Huntington Park, Cudahy, Maywood, Bell, Bell Gardens, Walnut Park, Lynwood — are among the most Spanish-dominant communities in Los Angeles County. Tens of thousands of adults here have the skill and the drive for a licensed trade and have been shut out of vocational education by language alone.
That is not a marketing observation, it is what the reviews on our Google listing say in their own words, repeatedly and in two languages: the classes being in Spanish is the thing that made school possible at all.
Lo que dicen nuestras estudiantes
Across 177 Google reviews, the same points recur from different students in different years: instruction in Spanish, instructors who take time to explain, and schedules that work around children. Several graduates describe going on to obtain a California licence and work as manicurists and stylists.
The reviews are not uniformly glowing, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Read them yourself on our Google listing, then come and see the classrooms. Both are worth doing before you commit money to any school, ours included.
Costo
Costo y formas de pago
Cost depends entirely on which program you choose. Spanish-language instruction is not priced differently — it is simply how the school teaches. Call (323) 587-1750 for real figures.
Qué programa elija
Manicurist at 400 hours costs substantially less than cosmetology at 1,000. Program length is the largest cost driver.
Kit y materiales
Each program has its own tool and product requirements, itemised in writing before you enrol.
Libros en español o inglés
Both textbook sets are available. The choice does not change tuition.
Cuotas del estado
Application and examination fees go to the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology, not to the school.
Plan de pagos
Ask about payment plan options when you call. Spreading payment across the program changes what you pay each month.
